I'd like to hear some opinions on the Counter-Strike 1.6 and Source configurations we will be running on PlayPit II (Unofficial name).

Please comment on items like map cycle (standard maps only please), type of admin MOD, AMX...map time, chase cam settings....anything you like. Number of player slots is another item we need to agree. I prefer smaller servers of 12-16 ppl, others prefer 20+.

Bottom line is...if you want a say in what we do and how we do it...please state your case here. I'd also like to hear what other games you'd all be interested in playing...we have 80GB to fill.

Oh....and Psychostats will return....I hope.

please dont make any of the games bigger then 18 slots, 9 v 9 is more then enough on any server...

with source, please make sure docks and inferno are in there

dont make the map cycles too big, but also dont make em too small

i say like 6 maps in the rotation, maybe after a week change it?

Ummm, 6 maps (and popular ones) should be included in the cycle as Stu said. Also, have fun maps etc uploaded so when an admin is on they can just change it when they feel like some muck-about (fy_iceworld).

Actually, include iceworld in the default cycle, its so legend.

it can be on the server for when an admin is present. i agree with the other two posts. 18 player is enough and roughly 6 maps on pp2 would be alright.

Other games that a server could be used for... UT2k4? Source of course.
Will post some other things whenever i think about them

Us guys at Jags <the ones that are alright, not the prickhead ones> because we are like a lot of clans and play cs quite competitivly (whether were good is another question

) we like to go on random games and just fuck about and have a laugh. Like at LAN we were playing Halo, duna what you guys think of it, its a good laugh though running people over an that. UT is pretty cool aswell.

Wouldnt say anymore than 18 Player for cs, an think it should be fun maps

Maybe even keep varying it every month, one month hl2 deathmatch next UT etc.

Should be cool when the box is up

With regards to the map rotation I am fine with a default rotation (maybe minus a few) and having as many as possible 'fun' maps on there ... return of the BUM Map packs!

As for player limits: anything through steam - 16 player servers / 8 per team (my personal pref though some obv like more)

Other games such as ut2004, doom 3, q3 (if anyone still plays that like me), bf1942/Vietnam, MOH:AA etc could benefit from larger player servers.

Most of the less popular games on that list can be had for around a fiver on ebay (a lot brand new) so check out some of the games you may or may not have heard of and add any comments/thoughts/wishes you have.

For CS my recommendations:- Adminmod, Statsme, Psychostats

Just the way the origional playpit was

oh yer and just for kicks...chickenmod

imho 20 slots is perfect with 2 as reserve us ;D
As for other games put what you like on as long as you warn me before so i can go out and buy it... BRING ON PP2

tbh i dont think we will need 2 reserve slots, 1. prob will never be full seeing current state of pp1 2. just kick the people with crap names if its full
