After posting a link to a little vid in the chat box I have duly followed it up with a forum thread elaborating further on the matter

Please not this is still a W.I.P. and is only about 60% complete

I have converted my two storey garage into a home cinema (downstairs) and a 'pc or whatever you want to call it room' (upstairs)

The equipment that I was running in that vid is as follows:

> Sony VPL-VW10HT LCD projector (for Tweak^ - cost me £2000 which was a VERY VERY good deal at the time (got it about 2yrs ago) the average price at the time was £4500 lol)

> Sony STR-DB930 Receiver that I got about 5 years ago lol (very soon to be replaced with a spangly Pioneer VSX-AX5i)

> Some floor standing (about 4' high) Sony speakers I got about 5 years ago lol (cant remember model so no pic here!) - VERY soon to be replaced by a 5chan B&W setup.

> A VIBE Beta subwoofer (more info here)

(poor pic but its all I could find lol)

> My 'modified' PS2 (ie I took (broke) the front of the tray off so I could get my Slide card in and using a network adapter/hdd combo + HDadvance software to run my games off a HDD)

That was all just setup in about 5 mins (projector was on its carboard box lol) as I had some ppl rnd and they were interested in it... I'll get some more vids/pics as work goes on and of the final setup

DVD stuff:
KiSS DP-1508 DVD/Media player (wifi + 80GB hdd)
Sony DVP-CX850D 200 disc DVD player/changer
Sony DVP-CX860 300 disc DVD player/changer

TV Stuff:
Pace Twin Freeview box (with HDD recorder)
SKY+ box

Magical stuff:
HTPC for DVD post processing and media playback being fed by a TB capacity media server

Games:
About any/every console you can imagine

Thats about it for the time being lol

dude.. omg invite us all round for some movies

when we get a conversion on our house im getting a projector for my room - about 1200ansi.. i'm getting blinds for my room to the room can be pitch black so colour will be fine.. what level ansi do you suggest - keep in mind i have a price range up to like £700

It's like theres a party in my mouth, and everyones throwing up.

having the brightest projector can have negative effects but 1200 is great

... Save up a bit and maybe get one of these - PJ-TX100

If you were buuying it right now you can get it for quite a bit under £1000 but if you were to get it say next year it should be down by a bit... other then that i'd recommend a Panasonic PT-AEx00 (x = 1,2,3,4,5 - diff prices/specs/ages... any are good)

Also maybe scour ebay as you can get some PJs with lowish lamp usage for resonable prices

Yeah once I get it all done might get some ppl rnd
