Simplicity seems to work.

Step 1: Obtain client from http://www.mirc.com/get.html
Step 2: Install (default directory C:\Program Files\mIRC)
Step 3: Launch mIRC
Step 4: Press continue
Step 5: Enter details, name, email, nickname.
Step 6: Select servers from the categories menu, below connect
Step 7: Leave IRC network to ALL, change IRC server to any Quakenet server (Preferrably UK or whatever country you're in)
Step 8: Press the connect button (Looks like lightning)
Step 9: A window titled 'mIRC favourites' will open, type #clanbum in the empty space and press join.
Step 10: Participate.

gd gd ... I will post some screen shots at some point but this will do for now .. one thing tho the email address you enter while setting up must be a real one if you want to use some of quakenets services.

you missed out 2 vital steps that will flaw this instruction guide for an idiot....
1) Turn on your PC
2) Connect to the internet

and optional step;
3) Wear a hat
