Best football game ever = original fifa on the megadrive ... header/block keepers drop kicks back intothe goal, foul ppl and if they land off the pitch nothing happens, if they do you can run away from ref so he dont book you, gives up after ages!

For a football sim, no doubt pes3 is the dogs bollox....and fifa on megadrive WAS the dogs bollox too...but....

For those of u that visit arcades, there was a Konami (I think) game called...er...I'm tryin to find the name...but it was the almighty king dogs bollox, and u could do hypershots and supershots etc...and all kinds of crazy Manga style effects etc....now wtf was it called!

omg I think I know the game you are on about... I have played a dedicated arcade game that sounds like that and a NEO GEO MVS 'soccer' arcade game that sounds similar... cant remember any names tho!

ISS is too new (came out in 97 or poss 96 if i remember right... tho not too sure) and was more of a sim like fifa, not an arcade game.

also check here for arcades (dunno if it has neo geo arcade stuff on there) - http://www.klov.com/ .. not had time myself tbh

One of the first football 'sims' I played was on a PONG variant machine.. looked like this:
