I've recently been playing CS 1.6 and I kinda think now, that it ain't so bad, I actually think its a little better than 1.5...

I was wondering, will BUM switch to 1.6 soon ? or will it switch when the WonID system goes down ?

(I've even included a poll to find out what other members think)

Rane if u had pld CS for as long as many of us...you'd pretty much hate 1.6. Of course the fact is we will HAVE to switch to it sooner or later in order to compete in leagues. Truth be told, it snot, as u say, tha bad...but compared to 1.5 its poo poo. As for waiting for WON to be shut down....doesnt matter...we can run 1.5 without WON authentication, we can disable that....opens the door to banned WONIDS, but tbh most ppl are switching to 1.6 and its probably a manageable situation....I'm all for keeping a 1.5 box for a while ;D........unless I get convinced that 1.6 is better after you've bben playing a while, coz tbh I aint really got into it at all, havnt pld it for months.

you are so right... apart from being a whole version newer, its crud... its for noobs.. always headshots.. and hackers galore STILL.. 1.5 till i die tbh

i say UT2004! ... that doesnt help much with this situation but i thought i'd say it...

anyway, I prefer 1.5 over 1.6.

.6 isnt so bad, imo its pretty much the same as 1.5 but has certain extra things that make noobs play like pros... too easy to get HS and a few extra things that make it just a bit odd... but i dont mind what version the servers run

the less ping thing is nice but thats pretty much it.. if they did that to 1.5 it'd be great.. for 56k's play 1.6 tbh. adsl or more stick to 1.5

Cstrike lastinv fix (lastinv works at start of round, after picking up items, etc)
Cstrike corpse popping fix
Cstrike FL_FAKECLIENT fix (3rd-party bots should work fine in cstrike once more)
Fixed file leak in ReadWaveFile() function

Well, they will be making more fix to 1.6, it is shit for some of you, but for me, e.g. im a awper, i know the difference between the system they use in 1.5 and 1.6, in 1.5 sometimes when you shoot a bullet even u are in scope mode, ur bullet flys off, which you will think "WTF, i shot him!!" but, in 1.6 the bullet goes where exactly you shot at, if its the wall, then it hit the wall, if its the person's leg then it will take 90 damage, if its guts or head, that guys going to hell. They also increased the accuracy of AK for the first 2 shot, which pretty much enough to take someone off, They decreased the damage of m4 and ak, but increased the accuracy, and made slight change to the recoil system.

For valve to released a very nice game called Counter-Strike, we still need to appreciate the amount of effort they put into 1.6. Also it may suck at some point. But it will get better. Its Valve's first time using a complete new system for 1.6 anyway, everyone makes mistakes the first time dont they?
