Playpit and Scumhole
|
Scumhole is now fully operational, MiG has restarted it after a steam update. Me, Kingy and Stu played on it for a bit last night, no problems. I had a lower ping than I get on playpit and only lagged once. Not bad for a 128k connection. So, I suggest you start having a play with it...coz after all my whining about how crap 1.6 is, I actually thought it was quite good after I played for a while...loving that new terrorist rifle tbh.
Also, there are some updates planned for playpit. We will be re-installing Statsme, as its currently half installed and may be causing some of the lag problems...we used to run Stasme a while back before the server crashed, and since it was fixed Statsme hasnt worked...so thats getting sorted. We will also be installing HLGuard, again, something we used to run. We looked at Cheating Death, but if you install that, you have to disable VAC, so we've decided to go with HLGuard + VAC for now.
